Jim Thorpe band getting ready for the season

VICTOR IZZO/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS From his position a the top of a ladder, Jim Thorpe School District Band Director Eric Flowers runs band members, color guard, honor guard, and cheerleaders through their drills in preparation for the field show at football games. Assisting him during the recently completed five day long marching band camp were Color Guard Instructor Mrs. Kelly Scott, Drum-line Instructor Jordan Behrens, and Drum Majors Alyssa Dachowicz and Haley Cope. The Jim Thorpe Olympian Marching Band this year is the largest Director Flowers has ever had in his seven seasons at Jim Thorpe. Combined, band members, color guard, honor guard, and cheerleaders add up to about 93 people total. Jim Thorpe's first game with Tamaqua is a home game on Friday August 31st.
