A truck driver escaped injury in a crash that occurred about 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14, along SR61 in New Castle Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Timothy J. Lynd, 41, of Fairport, N.Y., was operating a 2011 Kenworth truck northbound and attempting to negotiate a left-hand curve in the road.Lynd failed to slow enough to negotiate the curve with the truck striking the guide rail on the east side.Lynd overcompensated, troopers said, and the truck rolled onto the passenger side in both northbound lanes. It then traveled about 100 feet north on its side before coming to rest in the northbound lanes.Troopers cited Lynd for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.
