Benefit planned in Tamaqua on Sat. for woman with cancer

Family and friends are holding a music and dance benefit this Saturday for Robin Nelson Krapf, 52, of Lansford, who was recently diagnosed with a form of lung cancer.

Krapf is currently undergoing 12 weeks of chemotherapy.Volunteers are holding the event, called "Rockin For Robin", as a way to show emotional, physical and financial support. Friend Tim Ziegler said, "Lets get together for the great cause and help her fight this devastating disease!"The event is being held from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Tamaqua Italian Club, 101 Schuylkill Avenue, in Tamaqua. The event also includes a Chinese auction being held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. In addition to bands, DJs and dancing, food and drinks will be sold, a 50/50 will be drawn and other activities.Some bands and DJs donating their time will be DJ Juice, DJ Romig, Commom Ground, The Modern Day Mollys and County Line. Volunteers pointed out that there will be door prizes as well.
