A 12 year old girl was seriously injured Thursday morning when involved in an equestrian accident in East Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County. The incident occurred just before 11 a.m. on a horse farm along Arrow Road just west of West Penn Township. Radio reports stated the girl had fallen from a horse which then stepped on her head. She was treated at the scene by members of the Penn Mahoning Ambulance then flown by PennStar helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. The scene is on the Birdsall farm although the stable area is leased to an unknown second party. West Penn Township police assisted at the scene.
