Doris and Bob Kinsley and members of their family, cut the red ribbon and it was declared official-the world's largest ShopRite was dedicated amid fanfare from invited only guests and dignitaries on Friday.

Everyone poured into the new store to taste delicious culinary samples and refreshments and to get a first-hand glimpse of what could only be considered the Cadillac of grocery stores.Bob Kinsley said this day was something that he always hoped for."Hopefully, we won't have to build anymore after this," he chuckled, referring to building the first Brodheadsville store in 1987 and then adding on to it twice. He said he and his wife were very lucky and "We have our kids and our grandkids."His father, Clayton Kinsley opened the first Kinsley Market in 1950 and he would have been amazed to see the new 95,000 sq. foot store."He never would have gone into debt for something like this. My mom would have. So I guess I take after my mom," he smiles.His daughter, Dee Dee Jacoby said, "We're finally here!" She believes their customers are going to appreciate the variety the new store has to offer.In a short dedication ceremony inside the new store in front of the 1926 Model T Ford station wagon, the Rev. Thomas E. Richards, the Kinsleys' family pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Tannersville, told the Kinsleys how happy he was for them. In a prayer, he thanked God for the Kinsleys and for all they do for the community.Chris Kinsley, Sr., general manager and vice president of the Kinsley's ShopRite thanked everyone for their help in making the new store a reality from family, to the ShopRite Wakefern Food Corporation ("You are the best"), to the Lynmar builders ("Great job"), to all associates for getting the store ready, to the store manager Tom Kresge, comptroller Lori Fernandez, all department managers, the employees and he welcomed all 140 new employees to the Kinsley family."We're ready to rock on Sunday," he concluded.Mario Scavello Pennsylvania State Representative for the 176th Legislative District said, "I walked around this store before the ribbon cutting. If they don't have it here, no one has it. This is going to be a real shopping experience. I wish the Kinsleys success and continued best wishes for a fabulous store."Rosemary Brown Pennsylvania State Representative for the 189th Legislative District said, "I was lucky enough to be here when the Kinsleys broke ground on July 14, 2011. Mario and I are always fighting for economic development and we're wishing you all the best. I can't wait to use the online shopping service."Grace Marks, filling in for Senator Pat Brown of the 16th senatorial District said, "This is not just another ShopRite. This a WOW ... for the Kinsleys, for the people, for the community, Monroe County and for ShopRite. You employ the most people in Chestnuthill Township. You're all about community and family."Bob Kinsley thanked everyone from the Lynmar builders, Wakefern and his family for all they have done.Doris Kinsley and her daughter, Dee Dee and daughter-in-law Margaret brought everyone's attention to a beautiful and large cake with two candles.Doris explained the significance of the two candles as Dee Dee and Margaret lit them."The first one is for the closing of the old store and the second one is for the miracle of the new store."Chris Kinsley thanked some very special surprise guests. Members of the Pocono Township Fire Company brought the ladder truck and extended the ladder with the American flag flying from the top and sounded the siren. Chris is the president of the fire company and it was a very emotional moment for him and the family.Representing Chestnuthill Township was Supervisor Chairman Chuck Gould, Supervisor Chris Eckert and township office manager Cathy Martinelli."You really can't ask for better people," said Eckert. "As a longtime member of the West End Fire Co. I can tell you that they have literally donated thousands of dollars to the fire company alone."Perhaps summing up the sentiments of all present at the dedication, Supervisor Chairman Chuck Gould said, "The Kinsley family has been a fixture in Chestnuthill for 25 years. They are very community minded, involved in countless fundraising and giving back to this community. You couldn't find a business or a family that takes better care of their customers and community than the Kinsleys. On behalf of a guy who likes to eat, let the shopping begin," said Gould.
