The Vietnam Veterans Organization of Carbon County will be commemorating the 48th anniversary of the beginning of the Vietnam War at the Vietnam War Memorial on West Broadway in Jim Thorpe across from Immaculate Conception Church. The ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7. The Vietnam Veterans Organization of Carbon County will also commemorate the 13 men from Carbon County who were killed in action during the Vietnam War. The main speaker will be Major General Jay Barry, U.S. Air Force Reserve Retired. The public is invited to attend.
