Dozens of veterans from the Korean War attended the 46th annual banquet of the Korean Last Man's Club Saturday at the Lehighton American Legion Post.

The event was held two days before the 62nd anniversary of the start of the war.In charge of the meeting was club president Robert D. Berger Jr. He remarked, "May our ceremonies tonight deepen our reverence for our departed comrades."Berger also placed the wreath on the Korean monument in front of the Legion Post.A highlight of the meeting was re-election of officers.Berger will remain president. Other officers are John R. Williams, vice president; Leroy Goldberg, secretary-treasurer, and James Wentz, chaplain.The toast to the living was presented by William Newton.Offering the toast to the dead was Jack Hoffman.The invocation and benediction were given by Wentz.Since last year's banquet, nine members of the Last Man's Club have died.The guest speaker was Wayne E. Nothstein, chairman of the Carbon County Board of Commissioners.
