The Tamaqua Area Adult Day Care Center has a number of activities planned for the month of May, including a spring picnic on May 25.Other special days next month include: May 1, show and tell; May 4, taco day; May 7, craft day; May 8, design a sock day; May 10, May basket construction; May 11, foot doctor visit; May 14, sing a long with Audrey Christ; May 15, monthly birthday party; May 18, visit from St. Jerome's kindergarten students; May 23, Salvation Army service; May 30, cooking class; May 31, movie day.In addition to weekly sing-alongs and social games, hairstyling and manicure services are available. Both require advance notice.Daily activities include exercise, reality orientation, remotivational and reminiscent therapy, as well as breakfast, lunch and a snack.Anyone interested in obtaining more information about the center and its services may call (570) 668-6577.Pool passesApplications are now available for season passes to the H.D. Buehler Memorial (Bungalow) Pool in Tamaqua. Opening day will be June 4, at 11:30 a.m.No season or daily passes will be available that day.Steeply discounted rates for Tamaqua Area School District residents are made available through the generosity of the John E. Morgan Foundation. Rates will remain the same as last year.Application forms, rate structures and additional information is available at Tamaqua Borough Hall, 320 E. Broad St.; the Tamaqua office of the TIMES NEWS, 200 E. Broad St.; the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce, 114 W. Broad St.; the Tamaqua Public Library on South Railroad St.; Fegley's Mini Mart; and Our Family Mini Mart. Kevin Duffy Guy will officiate at the 9:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in St. John United Church of Christ. The service will be followed by a time of fellowship, with refreshments. Sunday school classes for all ages will be held at 11 a.m.The weekly radio program will be aired on WLSH - AM1410, at 11:30 a.m.For next week, the bell choir will rehearse at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and the choir will rehearse at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.First MethodistThe Rev. James Cavallero will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Feed A Friend Sunday in First United Methodist Church. The service will include a hymn sing.
