SHHS graduatesThe Class of 1962 of the former Summit Hill High School would like to extend an invitation to anyone who attended the school to join the class members for their 50-year reunion. The event is planned for Saturday, May 26, at the Parkview Inn, Summit Hill.For more information and/or to attend, call Eileen (Evans) Lechleitner, (570) 645-2209.Cleanup datesSummit Hill Borough will hold its annual spring clean up program on April 19 and 24.On Thursday, April 19, refuse will be picked up by the sanitation contractor on the east side of town, as well as at Knepper's Trailer Lots and East and West White Bear drives in White Bear.On Tuesday, April 24, refuse will be picked up by the sanitation contractor on the west side of town, along with Laurel Drive and East and West Mountaintop roads in White Bear.Among the discarded items that will be picked up are five tires, tire rims, auto body parts, refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers, water coolers, heat pumps, washers, dryers and stoves.All items must have all chemicals removed from them and residents must tag them with a notation stating that the chemicals have been removed. Also, doors must be taken off refrigerators and freezers.In addition, up to 10 bags of garbage will also be taken by the contractor.OLOAA registrationOur Lady of the Angels Academy, Lansford, is accepting registrations for kindergarten and new students in grades 1-8. Parents can register their child(ren) between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at the school. They can also contact the school office to pre-arrange a more convenient time for signing up.At the time of registration, parents must present the child's birth certificate, baptismal certificate, immunization records and a registration fee.St. Paul LutheranThere will be no guest minister at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, on Sunday, April 1. Instead, lay members of the church will preside for the Palm Sunday service, which will begin at 10:30 a.m. The Sunday school will meet at 9 a.m.St. Paul's will hold its Easter vigil on Saturday, April 7, at 6:30 p.m. The Rev. Marjorie Keiter will preside.On Easter Sunday, April 8, the guest minister will be the Rev. Stanley R. Trout, a retired pastor from Macungie. He will preside at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. The Sunday school will hold its Easter egg hunt and party on that day.The annual Communion breakfast of St. Paul's is scheduled for Saturday, March 31, at 9 a.m.CoaldaleFirst Congregational ChurchA Palm Sunday service with the distribution of palms will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, April 1, at First Congregational Church, Coaldale. Sunday School will follow at 10 a.m.Passover and the Lord's Supper Service with the Easter Story in Scripture and Song, will be presented at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 3. The service is open to the public.Nursing home ministries will visit St. Luke's Geriatric Center at 11 a.m. and MapleShade at 1:30 p.m., both on Wednesday, April 4.Maundy Thursday and Holy Communion service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 5.A Good Friday service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 6. The church will be open from noon to 3 p.m. for personal prayer and devotions.On Sunday, April 8, an Easter Morning service will take place at 9 a.m. followed by the Lord's Supper for those unable to attend Thursday's service. Sunday School for all ages will follow at 10 a.m.
