The Palmerton Area High School Student Council asked the student body and staff to help trim "The Giving Tree" during the Christmas holiday with donations of gloves, scarves, hats, earmuffs and things to keep warm for victims of abuse. They collected five sweatshirts, 12 hats, 22 pairs of gloves, six scarves, one fleece throw, one child's hat/glove set and $15 in cash. The Student Council officers presented their donations to Tammy Rodgers, center, a volunteer outreach coordinator for Women in Crisis of Domestic Violence Service Center (DVSC), located in Wilkes-Barre. The center serves Carbon and Luzerne Counties' domestic violence victims.
