A Palmerton woman was hospitalized as the result of a two-car crash that occurred late Tuesday evening in Walnutport.

According to the Walnutport Police Department, LoriAnne Carden, 23, of Palmerton, was driving her 2006 Ford east on Main Street at the intersection of Main Street and Route 145 at around 10 p.m. when she failed to stop at the red light, causing her to strike Robert Reinhart, 45, of Palmerton, who was driving his 2010 Dodge Charger northbound on 145.Carden was taken by ambulance to Palmerton Hospital with left knee and chest pains, Walnutport Police said. She has since been released.The Diamond Fire Company of Walnutport assisted at the scene.
