Summit Hill Heritage Center to kick off entertainment season

It may be a little cold outside this Saturday, but inside the Summit Hill Heritage Center in Summit Hill, the organization kicks off its 2012 entertainment season with the swinging polka sounds of "Just Us" accompanied by a menu full of delicious traditional fare including bratwursts, halushki and birch beer.

"This is the first of two events in February," said Heritage Center Board President Debra Ranck. "The music runs from 6 to 10 p.m. and features a well-known local band and plenty of dance floor to enjoy some great music and fellowship.""Just Us" is led by John Simkovich of Hazleton and is a three piece band that has been performing throughout the coal regions. Most recently they performed in Weatherly at Our Lady of Lourdes and this will be their first performance at the Heritage Center. Doors will open at 5 p.m.. All proceeds help support the Heritage Center.The Summit Hill Heritage Center is a 501c3 nonprofit service organization whose mission is to enrich the lives and communities of the Panther Valley and surrounding areas through entertainment, educational and social events, with its funds going to maintain and administer the building to support organizations like the food pantry, Feed the People, Boy Scouts and Quilting Guild. All donations and memberships are tax deductible contributions.
