Pat's shrine to Paterno

ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS Pat Freeh-Stefanek of Tamaqua, proudly stresses her life-long pride of Joe Paterno and Penn State. Stefanek has collected hundreds of fan items and has them on display in her "Paterno shrine" she proudly displays in the office of her job at the ABC High Rise in Tamaqua. "JoePa's legacy will live forever, because he has touched so many lives through education, sports, philanthropy and humanitarianism," said Stefanek, adding, "He had an impact on so many people." Stefanek, whose first date was during a Penn State game, can talk to you for hours in regards to Paterno's accomplishements. Stefanek and her husband, Eugene Ritsick, who makes sure they attend at least eight Penn State games a year, recall a wedding card from Paterno, sent in September, 1997. 'What a great memory." Stefanek points to the framed wedding card.
