Community meal

A free community meal will be held from 5-6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14, at St. John's United Church of Christ, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton. All are welcome.Food pantryThe Palmerton Food Pantry, located at 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton, at St. John's Lutheran Church, will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 17. For information, call (610) 826-4335.Historical societyAt 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 13, the Palmerton Area Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting in the Gallery of the Palmerton Area Library.A brief business meeting will be held, followed by the program. Roy Christman will focus on the heritage of farming. He will reflect on changes in local agriculture during the 1950 and 1960s.Library directorsThe board of directors of the Palmerton Area Library will meet at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15.Meetings are open to the public.Homework HelpersThe Homework Helpers program at the Palmerton Area Library is held from 3-4:30 p.m., every Wednesday. Volunteers will tutor your child if they need help with math, reading, spelling, or any other subject. Call the library at (610) 826-3424 for information, or to sign up for this free service.Over 60 ClubThe Over 60 Club meeting will be held at noon on Feb. 21 at Palmerton Borough Hall, 401 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. The program will be a Heart Bingo Game.
