Eric Wilmot, 19, of Lehighton, a U.S. Marine, received the thrill of his life when he personally met superstar entertainers Bob Hope, Brooke Shields, Vic Damone, Cathy Lee Crosby, Ann Jillian, and George Kirby. They had been in Lebanon for a special Bob Hope Christmas Show. Wilmot, stationed in Lebanon, met them when he flew home on emergency leave, riding in the same jet. In fact, he was the only military membe aboard the jet so each of the performers took a turn talking to him briefly. Wilmot came home to attend a relative's funeral.
