Nicole Donatone, who has a great devotion to country music, is pretty excited.

Donatone is entered in a national video competition in which she sings the Miranda Lambert cover, "The House That Built Me," and she's been getting a lot of votes.The contest is through "Don Kingsley's Top 40 Countdown," a syndicated radio country show that's broadcast throughout the United States, and is sponsored by One Main Financial. It continues through Jan. 15.The contest involves voters going onto the Internet and voting for their favorite video, with one of the entries, of course, being Donatone's.You can enter by visiting Donatone's Facebook page and clicking on the link or going to the Web site: ct40futurestar.com, and type in "Nicole Donatone."Those supporting Donatone and the list is growing can vote once a day.The grand prize is an all-expense paid trip to Nashville with a recording session on Music Row. It includes four nights at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Nashville and $500 spending money.Entries must make it into the top 40 to be judged. So far, Donatone has attained that status, but continues to need votes to remain there.Donatone, 24, is an employee of Penn's Peak Radio and is also a talented country singer who has opened for some major stars at various venues. She also has appeared at numerous functions including local fairs and carnivals.The talented performer said she heard about the contest while driving to work and listening to the radio.She had to choose to sing karaoke-style from a specific list of songs on the contest site. Among them was Lambert's "The House That Built Me."Donatone said she was thrilled that this was one of the song selections."I sing that a lot when I perform," she said. "I really love that song."She said she entered the competition to get exposure."Winning it isn't the priority," she said. "It's to get recognition because music is my life. That's what I live and breathe."Since entering the contest, she admits she, herself, is surprised at how her video is being selected by viewers and climbing the contest chart."I thank everybody who has voted for me and hope they continue casting votes," she said.Donatone has been successful in the past in major competition. Several years ago, during a "Gimme the Mic" contest held in Philadelphia, she won a new car.
