The Pocono District of Penn State Extension, which includes Carbon, Monroe, Pike and Wayne counties, will hold the first of four sessions of a "Penn State Dairy Data Analysis Tools" webinar series on Oct. 29.

This webinar series, designed for dairy producers, their employees, and advisers, will teach how to use customized online spreadsheets to assess monthly dairy test day records. There is a registration fee.Each session is offered from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The schedule includes: Oct. 29: Culling analysis; Nov. 5: Somatic cell analysis; Nov. 12: Fat-to-protein ratio analysis; and Nov. 19: Milk yield analysis.Participants can participate in any or all of the webinars. Analyzing monthly test day records graphically and dynamically may aid in determining which cows or groups of animals are not performing to their optimal potential.
