Bombers defeat Becahi

Palmerton's field hockey team mananged to shut out Bethlehem Catholic on Saturday in a non-league contest.

Palmerton's Sam Doherty scored the game's lone tally to see her team improve to 7-9 on the season with a 1-0 win over Bethlehem Catholic.

The Bombers had the edge in shots, 14-6, and corners, 18-5, and goalie Devon Smith stopped six shots in the shutout.

Rachel Bronico had eleven saves in goal for Bethlehem Catholic.


Bangor-Pleasant Val


The Lady Slaters pulled out a 1-0 soccer win in overtime over Pleasant Valley for a non-league victory.

Sydney Rosetti's score in the extra session was the game-winner, to see her team improve to 11-4 on the season.

Janelle Pastrana and Hailey Parks combined for four saves in a game that saw the Lady Bears (12-4 overall, 9-1 MVC) outshoot their opponent, 11-5.

Rebecca Beach had nine saves for the winners for the shutout.



-Pleasant Valley

The Lady Bears took the first two games over Nazareth, 25-20 and 25-20, before the Lady Eagles charged back for the remaining three, 21-25, 20-25 and 8-15 to pull out the come from behind win.

This was the Bears' first loss in a dual match all season, as Courtney Miller and Bridget Lozier had career-highs in kills, with 25 and 16, respectively. Teammate Steph Schmitt had a career high 30 assists in the loss, as well. Kiersten Griesback had 22 assists, and Mackenzie Dorney had 19 digs in the losing effort.
