Lansford police report released

Lansford Police Chief John Turcmanovich has released his report for May:

Police responded to 553 calls for service, including: abandoned vehicle, three; ambulance calls, 16; be-on-the-lookouts, three; 911 hang-ups/open lines, seven; alarms, nine; animals, eight; assaults (physical), one; arsons, one; assaults (sexual), two; assist agencies, 12; assist police, 36; assist persons, 30; attempted break-ins, three; bad checks, two; burglary, one; check vehicles, three; check residences, seven; check area, 24; check vehicle, two; check welfare (person), five; civil, 13; court/hearings, 11; code enforce./ordinance, 12;crashes, six; criminal mischief complaints, 140; curfew violations, one; disorderly conduct, one; disturbances, 12; domestic (arrest), one; domestic (non-arrest), 17; fights, nine; drug complaints/investigations, eight; fire call, one; follow ups, 58; fraud, two; harassment, 23; hazards, nine; identity theft, one; information, 38; mental person, one; noise, nine; parking, 25; protection-from-abuse orders, three; phone assignments, 10; public drunkenness, two; robbery, one; shots fired, three; suspicious activity, 15; terroristic threats, one; thefts, 10; traffic-related, 29; trespassing, two; unwanted person, one; vehicle (abandoned), five; vehicle (disabled), two; warrants, two; criminal arrests, nine, with five committed to prison.

Police dealt with four felonies: two statutory sexual assaults, and one each of corruption of minors and criminal trespass; five misdemeanors: possession of drug paraphernalia,endangering the welfare of a child, criminal trespass, a driving under the influence, and fleeing and eluding.

Police issued 33 citations: Eight traffic citations: One each expired registration, obedience to traffic-control devices, driving on right side of roadway and restraint systems; and two each driving without a license and driving under suspension. They also filed 25 nontraffic citations: One each underage drinking, retail theft, failure to vaccinate dog, and public drunkenness; two each criminal mischief and confinement of dogs; four each harassment and animal nuisance; and nine each of disorderly conduct.

Police also issued 51 parking tickets: 30 for vehicle code/borough ordinance violations and 21 meters.

Police vehicles: unit 101 (2009 Ford), 2,590 miles (total 41,791); unit 102 (2007 Dodge), 0 miles (total 71,611); unit 103 (1997 Ford), 232 miles (total 117,549); unit 104 (2006 Ford), 491 miles (total 48,542).
