Panther Valley Title I Luau Literacy Family Night

The Panther Valley Elementary School Title I Program recently held a Luau Literacy Family Night in conjunction with the annual Spring Book Fair. The Title I teachers provided several activites for the students to participate in as a way to promote family involvement in literacy. Activities included Comprehension Beachball Toss, Make-a-Word, Hawaiian Wordless, Create-a-Bookmark, Beachball Bingo and Sight Word Charts. Gift certtificates to the book fair were awarded to the 30 lucky students who attended. In the bottom photo, Paige Livengood (left) and Sienna Rickert (right) show off their word building skills with Title I teacher Ms. Stone, while in top photo, Anthony, Theresa and Victoria Muniz are shown dressed in Hawaian attire as they enjoy the activities. The photo at right shows Gabe Heaney getting ready for the Comprehension Beachball Toss.
