The annual report was approved, and SSP thanks all the committee chairmen for submitting their reports for publication. If you haven't read the report yet, please pick up a copy at church and read all of the positive activities that are happening.

Also, at the meeting, Kim Hughart was elected to serve a second term as council member. Other council members are: Barb Yarashas, president; Ray Borger, vice president; Debbie Smith, secretary; Ken Jablonski; Rob Coleman; Rich Gould; Janet Serfass; Patty (Serfass) Oswald; Joan McKinsey has agreed to serve on council. Pastor Scheffey is also a member of council, Joe Hughart serves as treasurer, and Norma Correale attends to take the minutes. On June 10, council members will be installed at the 10:30 a.m. service.

Vacation Bible School

Salem St. Paul will host Vacation Bible School, Operation Overboard, where children "Dare to Go Deep With God" starting at 10:30 a.m. Sunday June 24, after worship, and continuing Monday through Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The closing celebration will be Thursday at 8 p.m.

This year they will dive in and discover God's underwater universe. They will explore the depths of God's Word with Operation Overboard, a kid-friendly submarine for children to enjoy.

Their VBS program is for the whole family, with classes for ages 4 through grade 6 and adult classes, too. Junior and senior high students are encouraged to come and be teachers aides, or help with crafts, music, games or snacks. They need teachers and helpers and if interested in volunteering, or if you have any questions, call Maribeth Dudak at (570) 722-2992. Look for registration forms in the church lobby and turn them into the church office. (Registration forms received before June 10 will get a free Operation Overboard music CD.)

Congratulations to Daniel Serfass and Sonya Mostellar who were recently confirmed at Salem St. Paul's Lutheran Church and to Elizabeth Arace, who was confirmed at St. Matthew's UCC.
