William Valinch, currently residing in Sacramento Calif., recently celebrated his 103rd birthday.

Formerly of Rolling Mill Avenue in Tamaqua, "Bill" was born in Gilberton, Pa. on Dec. 22, 1908, to the late John and Margaret (Zerdgusky) Valinch. He was married to the former Julia McGee for 70 years.He has two sons: William of North Huntington, Pa. and John of Carmichael, Calif. He also has two granddaughters and three great-granddaughters.As a young man, he worked in various local mining jobs and for the Atlas Powder Co.
