Vehicle strikes car, leaves crash scene

State police at the Frackville barracks were summoned at 8:12 p.m. Dec. 19 to the intersection of Phineyville and Girard Manor roads in East Union Township, where a vehicle struck another car and then fled the scene.

Police said the small white vehicle was traveling on Phineyville Road without headlights when the driver failed to stop at a posted stop sign and the intersection with Girard Manor, entering the intersection and striking a 2003 Subaru Baja driven nu Kathleen A. Cepolski, 58, of Hazleton. The latter vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck a large while the small white vehicle fled the scene.

Cepolski was uninjured.
