A driver making a U-turn on a Schuylkill County road caused a crash. The accident occurred about 2:38 p.m. on Monday, July 30, along SR61 in Blythe Township, just south of the Schuylkill Mall exit ramp.

State police at Frackville said Debra A. Depew, 56, of Waverly, N.Y., operating a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan, was southbound and realized she had taken a wrong turn. She pulled onto the west berm and then attempted to make an illegal U-turn to go north in the southbound only lanes.

While making the U-turn she turned directly into the path of a 2009 Ford F150 truck driven by Roy F. Manbeck, 41, of Frackville. The left front of the Dodge struck the right front of the Ford.

Depew and passengers Amy Allen, 35, of Milan, Bradford County, and three juveniles, ages 10, 5, and 2, were all not injured as was Manbeck.

Troopers said both vehicles had to be towed.

Troopers cited Depew for careless driving and traffic control device.
