Carbon County man jailed in gun incident

A Carbon County man was jailed on Saturday following a gun incident resulting from a domestic dispute in Kidder Township.

Township police identified the suspect as Robert Moore, 44, of Lake Harmony.At about 5:35 p.m. officers were called to Greenwood Road in Lake Harmony for a domestic dispute involving a firearm. Upon arrival officers observed Moore coming out of his home. He refused police commands to show his hands and then ran back into his home.The responding officer called for backup. Other officers arrived and a perimeter was set up. Moore eventually was talked out of the home and was taken into custody. Found on his person was a loaded 9mm handgun.Moore was arraigned before District Judge Joseph Homanko, of Weatherly, on two counts of aggravated and simple assault, and three counts of reckless endangering, terroristic threats, persistent disorderly conduct, and harassment.He was committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning in lieu of $250,000 straight cash bail set by Homanko.Assisting Kidder police were state police, Jim Thorpe and Pocono Mountain Regional police and officers from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR).
