13 area residents among 55 arraigned on criminal counts

Thirteen area residents were among 55 who were arraigned on criminal charges before District Attorney James P. Goodman at the Schuylkill County courthouse Monday and all entered pleas of not guilty and requested trial by jury.

They were:Joseph C. Benny, 33, of 23 South St., Tamaqua, was charged by Rush Township Patrolman Richard Bekesy, with driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and careless driving last July 16 on Lafayette Avenue.Emily Ann Kehl, 19, of 249 W. White St., Summit Hill, was charged by Tamaqua Patrolman Anthony Stanell, with criminal conspiracy to purchase heroin in an area of a school bus drop off zone last Feb. 24.Corinne P. Milner, 23, of 60 River Road, Tamaqua, was charged by Tamaqua Patrolman Thomas Duane, with DUI and careless driving last Aug. 7 in the 200 block on W. Broad St.Virginia Mary Forker, 37, of 44 James St., Kelayres, Kline Township, was charged by Trooper Thomas Powell with DUI in the unit block on James Street and careless driving last Aug. 5.Joseph S. Frantz, 24, of 190 Lincoln Drive, Tamaqua R.D., was charged by Rush Cpl. Duane Frederick, with criminal conspiracy, theft of metal belonging to Reading and Northern Railroad Company from area of High Bridge, Hometown, and two counts of defiant trespass. The metal is kept in large wooden boxes placed periodically along the railroad tracks to do repairs.Zachary Evans, 18, of 247 Franklin St., Tamaqua, was charged by Tamaqua Patrolman Thomas Duarte, with DUI, stop sign violation, failing to obey a traffic signal, purchasing alcohol beverages as a minor and careless driving last July 21.David Danenfelser, 42, of 1435 Germans Road, Andreas, West Penn Township, was charged by Rush Patrolman Richard Bekesy, with resisting arrest, fleeing police, exceeding the maximum speed limit, failing to have a driver's license and disorderly conduct last Aug. 15.Corrine Duke, 43, of 264 Brown St., Tamaqua, was charged by Tamaqua Patrolman Maria Aracena, with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct in the 200 block on E. Broad St. last Aug. 16.William Edwin White, 51, of 3 Forest Hill Road, Hazleton, was charged by Tamaqua Patrolman Matthew Bynon, of possession and misbranding a controlled substance (CS) and failing to secure loads on his pickup truck on Mauch Chunk Street last Dec. 10.Michael Howard Startzel, 27, of 45 N. Greenwood St., Tamaqua, was charged by Tamaqua Cpl. Henry Woods, with access device fraud by using his mother's bank card without permission, two counts each of theft and receiving stolen property.Joseph Robert Holland, 30, of 223 Rowe St., Tamaqua, was charged by Pottsville Patrolman Eugene Michael Yourey, with defiant trespass on property of Pottsville Housing Authority last Sept. 11.John Correll, 24, of 1008 S. Kennedy Drive, McAdoo, was charged by Rush Patrolman Corey Herring, Rush with criminal conspiracy, giving unsworn and false information to police and driving while his operating privileges were suspended when stopped last Aug. 30.Jacob John Davis, 26, Tresckow, was charged by Rush Patrolman Corey Herring, with retail theft from Wal-mart Store last Aug. 30.
