The Carbon County Veteran's Day parade is planned Sunday in Jim Thorpe.

In case of rain, the six-division parade will be held the following Sunday, Nov. 13.County Director of the Department of Veterans Affairs Henry Desrosiers said the event is to honor those who have served and those who currently serve in the United States Armed Forces for their service and sacrifice to the United States of America.The parade will start at 2 p.m. at Jim Thorpe Area High School and will proceed south on Center Street to Ninth Street. It will turn onto North Street, where a brief ceremony will be held at the World War II Monument. The parade will pass by the reviewing stand in front of Jim Thorpe National Bank and will end at Second and Center streets.
