Guest speaker will be Greta Weaver of Quality Personal Care.There will be no indoor rummage sale.Halloween paradeThe Panther Valley Elementary School Halloween parade will take place on Oct. 31 at about 1:45 p.m. from the school throughout the town of Nesquehoning.School bonfirePanther Valley is holding a bonfire tonight at 7 o'clock behind the middle school to celebrate all fall sports teams and organizations.This week celebrates the volleyball team senior night on Thursday evening and a home football game against local rival, Tamaqua.All students, faculty and members of the community are encouraged to attend.Magic ShowThe Panther Valley Public Library, 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, will hold a Magic Show at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22.Lt. Dave Midas, from the Carbon County Sheriff's Office, will be there to give handouts and talk about trick or treat safety. Refreshments will follow the program.Children must preregister by calling the library at (570) 645-3780. Children must be accompanied by a parent. There will be a fee of 50 cents per child and a canned good, to be donated to the Panther Valley Shepherd House Food Pantry, from the parent.The Summit Hill Heritage Center is helping sponsor this event.
