Music, daredevil stunts and plenty of good old fashioned family fun

It's safe to say the fourth annual Rock the Fall Festival offered a complete package to whet the appetite of people of all ages.The two-day event was held amid Indian Summer weather this past weekend at Blue Mountain Ski Area in Lower Towamensing Township.Musical entertainment, as well as Blockers Yamaha-Kawasaki and Keystone Harley Davidson's 25th Annual Fall Foliage Ride, highlighted the event.A total of six bands - three each day - performed rock, classic rock, and country music. The Jesse Wade Band, Forty Grand and Pair of Nuts performed on Sunday. Stonecat, Daisy Jug Band and Big Things played on Saturday.Nick Rice of Schnecksville said he came to see Forty Grand so he could see a former high school classmate who plays in the band perform."This is my first time here," Rice said. "It was a good time; it was fair."Extreme motorcycle stunt crew The Krazy White Boys, as well as the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, featuring juggling, tight rope walking, fire eater, and sword swallowing, were also on hand.Scenic lift rides: $5 All-Day Wristband; Kids Amusement: $5 All-Day Wristband; a tent sale for used and new equipment; face painters and airbrush tattoos; free pumpkin painting; two jump bounce houses; sidewalk chalk art; disc golf; a 24-foot rock wall; and pumpkin chuckin' were among other activities.Abigail Stasik, special events coordinator, said attendance peaked on Sunday, thanks in large part to the 25th annual fall foliage ride."We tried to get a little bid of everything for the whole family," Stasik said. "Everybody's having a good time."Stasik said there were 30 non food and 10 food vendors on hand as well."We tried to really not overlap too many [vendors]," she said. "We're trying to not replicate too many items, which gives our customers a chance to walk around."Sabrina Striano of Macungie, another first time attendee, gave the festival a thumbs up."They have a lot of stuff, and it's very affordable," Striano said. "I think it's great, perfect."
