A Tamaqua woman remains lodged in the Schuylkill County prison, Pottsville, following her preliminary hearing before District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, last week.

Amber Strohl, 28, of 44 Mauch Chunk St., appeared before Bayer in connection with a theft and resisting arrest charges filed by Tamaqua Patrolman Thomas Rodgers. Strohl allegedly took a purse from Freddy's Pub on July 31, then fought with officers when they attempted to arrest her. Charges of theft, receiving stolen property, simple assault, resisting arrest and harassment were all bound over for court trial.Bail was set at $10,000 and Strohl was returned to the county jail.Lawrence Petrole, 50, of 346 W. Blaine St., McAdoo, was held over for court trial on charges of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and disregard of a traffic lane. The charges were filed by Rush Township Patrolman Corey Herring following a July 5 incident.Petrole was released on his own recognizance.Daniel Patrick Kelly, 31, of Moosic waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of DUI, unsigned registration, disregard of a traffic lane and careless driving. The charges stem from a May 19 incident and were filed by Kline Township Patrolman Matthew Barrett.Kelly was released on his own recognizance.Patricia Ann Headley, 45, of 522 S. Kennedy Dr., McAdoo, also waived her right to a hearing on DUI related charges. She was charged by Rush Township Patrolman Richard Bekesy following an April 17 incident.She was released on her own recognizance.Daniel M. Bell, 33, of 113 First St., Coaldale, was charged with DUI and elected to waive his preliminary hearing. The charges were filed by Coaldale Patrolman Jeremy Talanca following an April 17 incident.Bell was released on his own recognizance.Francis Howie Kephart, 20, of 315 Doney Run Rd., Weatherly, waived to court charges of theft and receiving stolen property, filed by Kline Township Police Chief John Petrilla. The charges stem from an April 21 incident.Kephart was released on $25,000 unsecured bail.Jonathan Whateley of 54 Fifth St., Coaldale, waived a hearing on drug charges related to a June 16 incident. Charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia were filed by Coaldale Patrolman Jeremy Talanca.Whateley was released on his own recognizance.Thomas Gaughan, 49, of rear 36 W. Blaine St., McAdoo, waived hearings stemming from incidents in two different boroughs. Gaughan was charged with harassment on June 28 by Tamaqua Patrolman Anthony Stanell, and with disorderly conduct on July 6 by McAdoo Patrolman Anthony Divirgilio. Both hearings were waived.Gaughan was released on his own recognizance in both cases.
