DUI arrests

State police at Lehighton reported on the following driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers.

On July 29 about 10:23 p.m. troopers stopped Thomas William Marchetty, 33, of Cherry Hill, N.J., along Little Gap Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, for several motor vehicle code violations. He was found to be under the influence. He was placed under arrest for DUI. Charges will be filed, troopers said.On July 31 about 9:59 p.m. troopers stopped Jamin Zimmerman, 31, of Lehighton, along S. First St., in Lehighton, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence and is facing a DUI charge.On Aug. 1 about 8:22 p.m. troopers stopped Michael Lee Serfass, of W. High St., Nesquehoning, along SR903, just north of Maury Road, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, for having a faulty headlight system. He was found to be under the influence. He was charged with DUI, general lighting requirements and careless driving, troopers said.Also on Aug. 1, about 10:30 p.m. troopers stopped Jason Neace, 30, of Blakeslee, along Polk Township Road and SR209, in Polk Township, Monroe County, while operating a all terrain vehicle (ATV) along the road with a 13-year-old child on the back.A traffic stop was made and Neace was found to be under the influence and was taken for a breath test. Neace is facing charges of DUI, driving while under suspension, and other motor vehicle code violations, troopers added.A DUI arrest followed a crash that occurred about 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, along Interchange Road (SR209) in Polk Township, Monroe County.Troopers said James C. Robbins, 38, of Kresgeville, is facing the DUI count plus other charges. Troopers said Robbins was operating a 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 truck southbound when, for unknown reasons, his truck left the road and went down a steep embankment.The front wheels of the truck struck a ditch causing it to spin counter-clockwise and come to rest facing northeast. After the truck came to rest Robbins fled the scene on foot.Two passengers, Samantha I. Struble, 21, of Effort, and Anthony W. Stalker, 23, of Tobyhanna, were injured and taken by West End ambulance to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.
