Clothes swap for Pleasant Valley dress code items to be held in August

Penny Derr, principal of Pleasant Valley Elementary School announced at the Pleasant Valley School District's school board meeting that there will be a Clothing Swap of PV dress code items on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at PVE.

This will give parents a chance to save money on clothing items that their children have outgrown and can replace with sizes that fit.The treasurer's report was approved with a vote 8-1 with board member Harvey Frable absent and James Spinola voting "No."Board member President Susan Kresge and MiChelle Palmer were appointed voting delegates to the PSBA Legislative Policy Council.Dr. Douglas Arnold, PVSD superintendent, reported that currently there are 300 children registered for kindergarten this fall. He says that number could rise to about 320-325.James Spinola was the only "No" vote in approving policy revisions.Dr. Arnold said that PVSD third graders raised $711.60 to be donated to the National Kidney Foundation.The board approved to enter into agreement with Schneider Electric to perform an Investment Grade Audit for the purpose of developing a performance contract to reduce the school district's energy usage. The exit fee of this audit would be $85,000 if the school district would decide not to move forward with the performance contract. There is no cost if the performance contract executing the engineered energy savings is done.The board approved 9-0:*hiring Michael Walters as computer technician, effective Aug. 1, at an annual salary of $31,349 prorated.
