The Poppy King and Queen were named by R.W. Fritzinger Post 7215 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Walnutport. They are twins Robert and Laurel Ohl.

The king and queen are chosen by the auxiliary to present the poppy to the first person accepting one at Kmart. They continue to help hand them out as people enter the store.The children have to have parents or grandparents who are members of the Post. They have to be age 5 and above.Last year's king and queen were Faith Ohl and Skylar Green. The first person they handed a poppy to was a veteran recently arrived from Iraq or Afghanistan.They ride a hummer in the Halloween parade and in the back of a truck with others from the VFW in the Military Affairs parade held in Bethlehem.Thirty children registered for the egg hunt, but with Saturday's heavy rain they did not all attend. The hunt, normally held in neighbors' yards, was turned into an indoor party.It was the seventh annual egg hunt for ages 1-10.Each child received a sand pail and shovel filled with candy and a floppy, long-legged bunny. The real eggs were in a separate bag - five per child, and a dollar.People who gave a donation toward the egg hunt had their names displayed on large paper eggs hanging in the front of the room.Auxiliary President Karen Bandzi and Mick Minnich went on a shopping trip to buy the buckets, candy and bunnies.The eggs were dyed and then Harvey Seyfried used a paint brush to make them fancy.Lunch consisted of hot dogs, chips and orange drinks. The drinks were donated by Zimmerman's Dairy and the eggs were from Donna's Café.
