The annual children's Easter egg hunt and festivities, staged by Lansford Alive in Lansford, went on despite heavy rain, Saturday.

The event was held in the pavillion at the Lansford Pool.Lenny Kovach, a coordinator, gave parents the option of either having their children hunt for eggs in the downpour or just allocate eggs to the children.They opted for the latter, with lucky eggs still distributed.The egg hunt was primarily sponsored by Boyer's Food Market in Lansford. Personnel from Boyer's assisted the Lansford Alive volunteers.Students from Panther Valley High School assisted the Lansford American Legion with handing out hot dogs, potato chips, and soft drinks to egg hunt participates.Over 100 people attended the event.Large coverings were placed around the pavillion to keep the eggs and prizes dry.The Easter bunny arrived via a Lansford Fire Department truck. Kovach and Paula DiGilio escorted the bunny from the truck to the pavillion with an umbrella.
