Collin Raye, Paul Revere coming to Schuylkill Fair

Country singer Collin Raye and oldies group Paul Revere and the Raiders will be among the main performers at the 2011 edition of the Schuylkill County Fair.

This year's fair will help with the bicentennial celebration of Schuylkill County.The annual event will be held Aug. 1-6 at the fairgrounds along Route 895 in Summit Station. The entertainment is free with the cost of fair admission.The fair lineup is as follows:• Aug. 1 - TBA.• Aug. 2 - Twitty Fever Band.• Aug. 3 - Choir Contest and the Schuylkill County Idols.• Aug. 4 - Ryan Pelton and the Difference.• Aug. 5 - Collin Raye.• Aug. 6 - Paul Revere and the Raiders.Collin Raye, a native of Arkansas, had his biggest country success in the 1990s and early 2000s.Among his hit singles were "My Kind of Girl," "Little Red Rodeo," and "That's My Story (And I'm Sticking To It)."Paul Revere and the Raiders is a rock band from the 60's, best known for such songs as "Him Or Me (What's It Gonna Be)," "Indian Reservation," and "I'm Not Your Stepping Stone."The Twitty Fever Band features current and traditional country, with a special segment on the legendary Conway Twitty.Weeklong activities at the fair include Hogway Speedway Racing Pigs and Bwana Jim's Wildlife Show.
