Thursday was a hectic day in the Carbon County Elections Office as persons planning to run for public offices on the county, municipality and school district levels maintained a steady stream of petition filings.

The deadline for filing nomination petitions to gave a candidate's name on either the Democratic or Republican ballots is Tuesday, March 8.As of the close of the business day yesterday, there were 47 Democratic petitions and 38 Republican petitions filed in the office.
