The schedule of activities for the Panther Valley Senior Center continues with March 14 when there will be horse racing at 11 a.m.; March 15 there will be a van trip and bowling after lunch; March 16 they will be celebrating the monthly birthdays and bingo at 11 a.m.; March 17 sing-a-long at 11 a.m.; March 18 St. Patrick's Party at 11 a.m.On March 21 exercise at 11 a.m.; March 22 "Guess Who," bring in an old picture of yourself; March 23 prize bingo at 11 a.m.; March 24 there will be a speaker from the Action Committee at 11 a.m.; March 25 shopping at 9:30 a.m.March 28 pay bingo at 11 a.m.; March 29 Pictionary at 11 a.m.; March 30 Black Jack at 11 a.m.; March 31 a bus trip to Mohegan Sun leaves CVS at 10:30 a.m.Remember to sign in by 10 a.m. for the next day for the lunch reservations.NesquehoningWoman's clubThe Nesquehoning Woman's Club will hold a meeting on Monday, March 7 at 7 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church social hall. President Judy Moon will preside.The hospitality committee will consist of chairperson Jane Pietruch, with Florence Kovatch, Jean Mikovich, Maureen Ouly, Ann Paulakovich, and Nancy Totani. The program will feature Joseph Paluck speaking on Women and Heart Disease.Reservations will be made at this meeting for the April dinner meeting to be catered by secretary, Nan Kevilly at her home. Payment must accompany the reservation for the dinner.Summit HillSHCIO to meetThe monthly meeting of the Summit Hill Community Improvement Organization will be held on Monday, March 7, at 7 p.m. in the borough hall. Debra Ranck, president, will be in charge of the session.St. Paul LutheranThe "Doughnut Nite" festivities that had been planned for St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, on Tuesday, March 8, have been canceled.The congregation will hold a church council meeting that night at 7 o'clock.Food distributionThe Summit Hill Food Pantry distributes food boxes to the needy in town on a monthly basis. Drop-offs are usually made on the fourth Tuesday of the month.Anyone needing assistance or knowing of less fortunate families in town who can use the help can contact Rose Marie Armon, (570) 645-3604 or Sandra Hill, 645-4617, for further information about the program.LansfordLansford BaseballThe Lansford Baseball Association will be holding sign-ups for all age groups on March 7, 8 and 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lansford American Legion Post. Registration and fundraiser fees will be collected at this time. The age groups include: T-ball - 6-7 years old; Minor and Little League - 8-12 years old; Girls Softball - 9-14 years old; and Babe Ruth - 13-15 years old. The program will offer assistance of various tasks to older persons.Anyone interested in participating in the ministry can contact Marilyn Barrett, (570) 645-0370.Transmission billsAs a convenience to the residents of the Borough of Lansford, the annual sewer transmission bills can be paid at the First Niagara Bank, 13 W. Ridge St., Lansford, until March 15.The borough is also collecting the bills in its administrative office at 26 E. Patterson St. and through mail service.
