Andreas man pleads to sexual assault counts

An Andreas resident pleaded guilty recently to counts of sexual assault. He was one of five area people, who were among a total of 15, who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County Court and were sentenced by Judge Charles M. Miller.

Christopher Lee Shiner, 27, of 134 Ash Circle, entered guilty pleas to three charges each of statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault on person under age 16, corruption of minors and indecent assault as cited by Trooper John Powis.Miller deferred sentencing and ordered a pre-sentence investigation (PSI) to be completed by the adult probation office. Sentencing is set for April 19.Michael Francis Jevelle, 24, of 21 Iron St., Brandonville, on two counts of terroristic threats was sentenced to serve six to 23 months in the county prison and received credit for having served 118 days. He was ordered to pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA), perform 10 hours community service, enroll in Anger Management Program, make restitution of $217.93 to Brandon Conti, victim and have no contact with victims or their families. On a charge of defiant trespass he has to serve an additional 12 months on probation to begin at the expiration of the first sentence. Jevelle was cited by Trooper Scott Grochowski in East Union Township.Aaron Patrick Stevens, 24, of 50 Robinson Road, Mahanoy Township, formerly of Barnesville, on two counts each of theft, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, was given credit for serving 43 days in the county prison and was placed on parole for 30 months. On the theft charge he is to make restitution of $488.99 to his mother. He was cited by Mahanoy Township Officer Robert Romanick.Micah Mobus Porter, 18, State College, on charges of driving under the influence (DUI) of drugs and possession of a controlled substance in Coaldale last June, was given credit for spending 57 days in the county prison and was released on parole for 18 months, pay a fine of $500, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, and his driver's license was suspended 12 months.On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia he received a concurrent 12 months probation sentence and for possession of marijuana a 30 day concurrent probation sentence. On a charge of failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic was fined $25 plus $63.50 costs. Porter was cited by Coaldale Patrolman Charles Blesse.Nicole Savage, 21, of 116 E. Early Ave., Coaldale, on three counts each of criminal conspiracy and retail theft from Walmart Store, Tide Road, Hometown, was sentenced to serve 10 days to 23 months in the county prison, beginning Monday, Feb. 21, at noon, pay $200 to SAE fund, $150 to CJEA, and make restitution of $923.24 to the store. Savage was cited by Rush Township Patrolman Brian Thompson.Kareem Jamiai West Walker, 25,of 310 Van Gelder St., Tamaqua, on a charge of simple assault was given credit for serving 54 days in the county prison and was placed on parole for 23 months, pay $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $3,180.72 to Joshua Shupp who suffered injuries. Walker was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Thomas Rodgers, following an altercation in the Happy Endings Bar.Kevin Ketchledge, 52, Mahanoy City, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance was placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Ketchledge was cited by Mahanoy City Cpl. Michael Dissinger. The sentence begins when his current sentence on a retail theft charge of 12 months probation expires.Heath Michael Livergood Jr., 20, Frackville, on a charge of corruption of minors was placed on probation for 12 months pay, pay $100 to SAE fund, and $50 to CJEA. Livergood was cited by Frackville Patrolman George Parnell.Brenda Lee Martin, 48, Pottsville, on a charge of terroristic threats. was placed on probation 23 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, and perform 20 hours community service. Martin was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Grant Yoder.Andrew Boyd Porterfield, 39, Pottsville, on a charge of harassment of Allen Bittle on the telephone was placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, and $50 to CJEA. He was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Michael Stank.Brandon Scott Schaffer, 22, Pottsville, on a charge of criminal conspiracy to commit burglary was sentenced to serve one year to two years in a state correctional institution and has credit for serving 93 days in the county prison. He also must pay $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $24 to Angus Angst. Schaffer was cited by Patrolman Richard J. Pugh, Pottsville Police.Angela Lynne Shelitsky, 33, Frackville, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, was placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, and $50 to CJEA. On a charge of criminal trespass was fined $25. She was cited by Trooper Mario Pompei.Adam Spotts, 27, Summit Station, Wayne Township, on a charge of harassment of Earl Spotts, Minersville, was fined $300. He was cited by Minersville Patrolman Kyle D. Crouse.Helena Dolores White, 39, Pottsville, pleaded guilty to charges of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal conspiracy, criminal use of a communication device and possession of a controlled substance.Miller deferred sentence and ordered White to report to the county prison on March 1 at 9:30 a.m. and the sheriff to transport her to a state correctional institute for an evaluation to be used by the court to determine whether she shall be sentenced to a State Intermediate Punishment Program. White was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Renee Galle.Daniel Lewis Kline, 30, Mifflinburg, on a DUI of alcohol charge was sentenced to serve 90 days to five years in the county prison. On a charge of driving while his operating privileges were suspended-DUI related, must serve an additional 90 days in prison to begin at the expiration of the DUI sentence, pay fines totaling $1,700, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $200 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, complete alcohol highway safety school and receive outpatient treatment. Kline was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Charles Webber.Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
