Mr. and Mrs. Joseph B. Lawson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday. They were married on Sept. 12, 1959 at St. Jerome's Church in Tamaqua by the Rev. Joseph A. Sheehan.

Mrs. Lawson is the former Nancy Houser, daughter of the late Lester and Isabell (Klemchusky) Houser.Mr. Houser is the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Pierce) Lawson.They have five children: Joseph M. Lawson, and his wife Marla of New Ringgold; Peggy (Lawson) and her husband, Darryl Miller of Andreas; Jeffery Lawson, and his wife, Gerri of Tamaqua; Melissa Lawson of New Ringgold; and Jeremy Lawson of Tamaqua.They have seven grandchildren: Elena Lawson, Ashley and Lawson Miller, Amber and Ashley Schock, and Emily and Megane Lawson.
