Monroe burglary

A large amount of money was reported taken in the burglary of a Monroe County business.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Village Squire Restaurant, located along SR115, in Blakeslee, was entered sometime overnight of Sept. 29-30. Police said a rear office window was pried open to gain entry. Once inside the criminals removed a large amount of money from the office area. Police did not state the exact amount of money that was taken.

Police are also investigating an attempted burglary at Long Realty, also located along SR115, in Blakeslee. Sometime during the night and early hours of Sept. 28-29, unknown criminals attempted to gain entry to the building through a window. Damage was found to the window by employees, but no entry was made.
