Paranormal society at historical society

The March 14 meeting of the Palmerton Area Historical Society will feature a presentation by the Blue Mountain Paranormal Society. Members will discuss their findings from last fall's investigation at the Little White Church and its graveyard.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the second-floor gallery of the Palmerton Library. There will be a short business meeting followed by the presentation. The public is invited to attend, without cost or obligation.

Quilt exhibit at Heritage Center

The display of antique quilts continues at the Heritage Center, 410 Delaware Ave. The center is open various hours from Wednesday through Saturday each week. Phone (610) 824-6954 for a recording listing the hours. Admission is free.

Holy Trinity Lutheran

Wednesday evenings Lenten soup, sandwich, and services return to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. March 16, 23, 30, April 6, 13, supper will begin at 6 p.m., followed by services from 7-7:30 p.m.

During the service, Mitch Albom's "Have a Little Faith," a true story, will be used to inspire the Lenten worship service. Copies of the book are available for your use.

National Library Month

The Palmerton Area Library, 402 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, is celebrating National Library Month with interesting and free activities for all ages.

This year's Free Tuesday Workshops will begin on April 5 with a Psanky Egg demonstration by Jodi Obena. She will demonstrate the egg painting, and there will be opportunities to sign up for future classes.

On April 19, Frank Hall will present an educational workshop titled "More Than Money Matters: Credit and Debt." All workbooks and materials will be provided along with refreshments.

On April 26, the Carbon County Environment Center will present a program about the Animals of Pennsylvania. Kids and adults are invited to the library to see and learn about live birds, rodents and snakes. Each of these programs will begin at 6:30 p.m. and take place in the gallery on the second floor. All the programs are free, but to make sure there are enough supplies, it is recommended that interested persons call the library to register ahead of time at (610) 826-3424.

Over 60

The Over 60 of Palmerton Club will meet at noon on March 15 at Palmerton Borough Hall, 401 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.

The program will include a presentation on Miracle Ear by Jeffrey Shrive, hearing instrument specialist.
