Possible stabbing being probed

Published January 10. 2011 05:00PM

Lansford police are seeking information on a possible stabbing that may have occurred in the early morning hours of Dec. 29.

Officer Chris Ondrus said that Officer Brian Zulic was dispatched to the 200 block of East Ridge Street on a report of a large amount of blood on a sidewalk and a sport utility vehicle, and a bloody knife. The bloody trail led from the middle of the block to the intersection of Ridge and Walnut streets.

Officer Dave Midas, Det. Jack Soberick and Summit Hill Officer Lori Leinhard assisted in examining the scene and interviewing neighbors.

One neighbor said she saw two males near that intersection having an altercation at about 4:30 a.m., but that she did not call police.

No complaints have been made to police about the incident and the victim is unknown. Any residents in that neighborhood who happened to see or hear anything are asked to call police at (570) 645-5844. All calls will be kept confidential.
