August 23, 1949 Bernie Krajcir delivers a run-scoring double in the bottom of the ninth to lift Nesquehoning to a 3-2 win over Summit Hill in the Panther Valley League playoffs. The winners trail 2-1 before completing their rally. Pete Labosky chases home the tying run with a sacrifice fly before Krajcir's walk-off hit. Lou Higgins collects two hits, one a double, and scores a run for Nesquehoning while Labosky earns the pitching win. For Summit Hill, Frank Piccin collects a pair of singles.
