The winning entries in the Dimmick Memorial Library's Third Annual Gingerbread House Contest were announced after judging of all submissions.

The contest was held at the library as part of Jim Thorpe's Olde Time Christmas Festival.Every part of the gingerbread house had to be edible with the exception of the platform on which it was built.Contestants competed in one of three categories: adult (13 and up); child (12 and under); and group.Three prizes were awarded in each category with first prize winner in each category receiving $25, and two runners up each receiving $10.Prizes for the winners were paid in the new gold dollars, which were donated compliments of The Old Jail Museum on West Broadway in Jim Thorpe.Entries were judged on creativity, neatness, variety of materials/details, setting, durability, and overall effect.Winning first prize in the adult category was Gina Musante. Runners up were Laura Holloway and Lisa Smulligan.In the child category, first prize went to Maggie Holloway, while Emma Gavornik and Garret Holloway were the runners up.In the group category, first prize went to the Special Needs Kindergarten, Mrs. Chippi. The runner up was the Dimmick Memorial Library Story Time Group.Judges for the Gingerbread House Contest were Helena LeBow, Ailinn Brennan and David Price.All of the Gingerbread Houses will be on display at the Dimmick Memorial Library until Dec. 18.
