A Tamaqua area man chose to forego a preliminary hearing related to a rash of burglaries he allegedly committed in Tamaqua during one single night in September.

Franklin J. Kunkel III, 19, of 139 Tamanend Rd., Quakake, was scheduled for a hearing before District Judge Stephen Bayer, Tamaqua, on Nov. 10 on felony charges of burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief and theft by unlawful taking, as well as misdemeanor counts of theft by unlawful taking and summary charges of criminal mischief. Kunkel allegedly broke into three Tamaqua businesses, Pieracini's Market, the Chili Dog and the Tamaqua Pawn Shop on Sept. 25. The charges were filed by Cpl. Henry Woods.Kunkel posted the required 10 percent of the $35,000 bail set by the judge.Other cases scheduled to be heard before the judge on Nov. 10 included:Clyde C. Bachert, 51, of 721 Rock Creek Ford Rd., Gettysburg, elected to have his case heard before the judge and ended with a split decision. Bachert was bound over for court trial on felony charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, while misdemeanor charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle were dismissed. The charges were filed by West Penn Township Patrolman Jason Lorah following a Feb. 7, 2009, incident.Bail was set at $25,000 unsecured.Nicholas S. Demyanovich, 48, of 1481 Valley Rd., Tamaqua, waived a hearing on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, reckless driving, driving the wrong way on a one way street and failure to stop at a stop sign. The charges stem from a Sept. 25 incident and were filed by Tamaqua Patrolman Thomas Rodgers.Demyanovich was released on his own recognizance.Edward Anthony Bumbulsky, 45, of 65 W. Church St., Hazleton, waived a hearing on charges of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and driving with a suspended/revoked license. State Trooper Michael Marchinchak filed the charges following a July 17 incident.Bumbulsky was released on his own recognizance.Terance James Osenbach, 28, of 1884 W. Penn Pike, New Ringgold, waived a hearing on charges of DUI, driving without a license and speeding. The charges stem from a July 24 incident and were filed by State Trooper Timothy Keating.Osenbach was released on his own recognizance.Pedro Santos Aldana, 45, of 698 Claremont Ave., Tamaqua, waived charges of DUI, driving without lights and driving without a license stemming from an Aug. 21 incident. The charges were filed by Tamaqua Patrolman Thomas Duarte.Aldana posted the required 10 percent of the $5,000 bail imposed by the judge.Joseph M. Zarsky, 27, of 337 W. Blaine St., McAdoo, waived hearing on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges were filed by Coaldale Patrolman Charles Blesse following a Sept. 13 incident.Zarsky was released on his own recognizance.Brianna N. Koschak, 20, of 307 Ridge Terrace, Coaldale, also waived her hearing. She was charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and theft by deception by Coaldale Patrolman Jeremy Talanca. The charges stem from an Oct. 1 incident.Koschak was released after posting the required $5,000 straight cash bail.
