HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Pennsylvania House Democratic leaders are bowing to pressure from the governor and rank-and-file members to return to Harrisburg to take postelection votes.

House Speaker Keith McCall notified the chamber's members Wednesday that they should return Monday.In particular, outgoing Gov. Ed Rendell has urged a return to voting session to pass a bill designed to blunt an expected spike in public pension costs.On Friday, McCall had announced that the House would not hold the lame-duck voting sessions this month that were previously scheduled.Senate leaders have ruled out any postelection votes, meaning that the House's lawmaking options are limited to approving bills previously approved by the Senate.Everything else dies.
