Tamaqua woman removed from ARD program

A Tamaqua woman was removed from a special probation program and a Tamaqua man from parole in actions taken in the Schuylkill County Court.

Tiffany Marie Bright, 29, of 322 Clark Street, Tamaqua, was removed by President Judge William E. Baldwin from the ARD (Accelerated Rehabilitated Disposition) Program, which is reserved for first offenders to allow them to clear their name. She now has to stand trial on charges brought by Patrolman Anthony Stanell, Tamaqua Police, of forging drug prescriptions, giving false written statements and criminal attempt to obtain a controlled substance.Devon Michael Shaak, 20, Pottsville, was also removed from the ARD program by Judge Baldwin. He faces charges brought by Patrolman Richard C. Cink, Minersville Police, of possession of drug paraphernalia,Four had their probation revoked as follows:Ryan James Verbitsky, 20, Hazleton, was ruled by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin to have violated terms of his probation and it was revoked and he was resentenced to serve one year to two years in a state correctional institute on a charge of altering and forging documents and plates. He had entered a guilty plea to the charge on Sept. 3, 2009 and was placed on probation for 12 months.Ronald Dean Mock, 66, Osterburg, Pa., had his probation revoked by Judge Baldwin and he was resentenced to serve 23 months on probation on a charge of indecent assault and continue with current counseling. He had pleaded guilty Nov. 11, 2008 and was placed on probation.Andrew John Waholek, 21, Elverson, Pa., had his probation revoked by Judge Baldwin and was resentenced to serve one year to two years in a state correctional institution on a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle stolen in Saint Clair. He had pleaded guilty on Feb. 19, 2009 and was placed on probation.James Richard Laub, 40, Pottsville, had his probation revoked by Judge Dolbin and he was resentenced to serve 12 months on probation and is subject to sex offender conditions-minor victim and must re-enroll in sex offender treatment at a rehab center. He had entered a guilty plea on Aug. 21, 2008 and after serving one month in prison was released on probation.A Tamaqua man was one of two who had their paroles revoked by Judge Dolbin.Brian Lee Filer, 43, of 407 Willing Street, Tamaqua, not only had his parole revoked but 122 days of street time disallowed creating a new maximum date of release from the prison at Jan. 22, 2011. He also must complete intensive outpatient counseling and attend alcohol highway safety classes. Filer had pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol and after serving 72 hours in the county prison last Jan. 21 he was released on parole.David Alvo Nettles, 23, Pottsville, had his parole revoked and his 329 days of liberty taken away and his new maximum date was set at April 12, 2012. He had pleaded guilty to retail theft and after serving 68 days in the county prison was released on parole.The bail of Michael Allen Kissinger, 21, Pottsville, was revoked by Judge Dolbin and he was remanded to the county prison to await trial on charges of corruption of minors and selling or furnishing alcohol beverages to minors.
