Artists and photographers needed for Palmerton Concourse Club art show

Dust off that camera lens or get your paint brushes cleaned or your charcoal or colored pencils sharpened and let your artistic talents start to shine.

It is time for the Palmerton Concourse Club's annual Palmerton Community Festival Art and Photography Exhibit on Saturday, Sept. 11 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 12 from 1-4 p.m., to be held at St. John Neumann School at Third and Lafayette Ave. in Palmerton.Category divisions are for young and old alike. They include all media paintings and black/white and color photographs.Best of Show, People's Choice, First, Second and Honorable Mention winners will be chosen with a variety of prizes for the winners.Adult art judge will be Joy Davenport; student art judge, Renee Lorenzetti; Lynn Shupp will be the student and adult photography judge.There will be a raffle with three prizes to be awarded the day of the show. The prizes are: a painting of the Lehigh Gap by Jeanne Stemler; a pysanky egg by Jody Obena; a framed print entitled "Living Life" donated by the Owl's Nest which is located in the Palmerton Campus of Blue Mountain Health Care.An Artist Bargain Corner will also take place in which various local artists will have their work for sale. The cost of these paintings or artwork will be less than $150.There is a registration of $5 for each entry and there are only three entries per person allowed.Those wanting to become a part of the art show and exhibit, or to learn more information about it, should contact Venita Horinko, art show chairman at 610-377-0530.
