Openings exist for the parish council and finance committee, Our Lady of the Angels Academy school board and the OLOAA finance committee. The only requirement is a desire to perpetuate the Catholic school. James Burdess, pastor.LansfordMeeting canceledThe regularly scheduled meeting of the Lansford Borough Municipal Administration Committee, which was supposed to be held tonight, has been canceled. The committee will meet on Monday, Aug. 30, at 6 p.m. in the borough office.Other meetingsTwo other committees of the Lansford Borough Council will meet later this week.The Parks and Recreation Committee will meet on Thursday, July 29, at 6:30 p.m., while the council's Code, Planning and Ordinance Committee will meet at 7:15.St. John's churchAt 7 p.m. each Wednesday St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, holds an informal worship: a spiritual, peaceful evening service with Holy Communion.All are welcome to this relaxed, brief evening prayer.
