Five first time offenders in the criminal justice system were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition (ARD) probation program on Thursday by Senior Judge Richard W. Webb.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete the program or are revoked from it the Commonwealth reserves the right to prosecute them on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Alex J. Rehrig, 21, of Lehighton, was placed on a charge of driving under the influence (DUI). He was arrested on Jan. 9 along E. Lizard Creek Rd., in East Penn Township. Given a test, the result was .26BAC.He was ordered to pay $500 for the cost of the program, ordered to get a drug and alcohol (D&A) evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, render 30 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.Warren Robert Remaley, 60, of Kunkletown R.5, was placed for six months on a charge of DUI. He was arrested on March 26 along Firehouse Road in Towamensing Township. Given a test, the result was .15BAC.He was ordered to pay $400 for the cost of the program, get a D&A evaluation, and license suspended for 30 days.Michelle Rolek, 21, of Nesquehoniong, was placed on two pending cases involving charges of theft and identity theft. The theft stems from a Jan. 7, 2009, incident in which the listed victim is Judy Rolek and the ID count for a May 20, 2008, incident with Gregory Rolek the listed victim. All charges filed by Nesquehoning police.Webb ordered her to pay $500 for the cost of the program, render 15 hours of community service, continue D&A counseling and imposed zero tolerance on D&A use.Patrick Thomas Sander, 26, of Lehighton, was placed on a charge of DUI. He was arrested on March 14 along SR903 in Jim Thorpe. Given a test, the result was .14BAC.He was ordered to pay $400 for the cost of the program, get a D&A evaluation and license suspended for 30 days.Christopher Wayne Warner, 21, of Lansford, was placed on three pending case including charges of possession of an instrument of crime and two counts of criminal conspiracy-theft from a motor vehicle. He was charged for incidents on April 3 in Palmerton and Lehighton where several vehicles were entered and items removed.Webb ordered he pay $500 for the cost of the program, render 20 hours of community service and make total restitution of $344.69.Each defendant must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
